ma baby....

this day i write about my first love....

why today??? well whenever i write that will be today....
no no the thing is she just went thru an open heart surgery so.
yeah i know it is pretty sad and i am depressed too.

needless to say we have had good times together.
really good times.
we have had wild nights we have had our peace.
we have gone for long trips, we have made short ones intresting
u see we both are wandrers.

i look back and realize how i love her and what all it means to me...
all those cliches and sayings about first love et al are so damn true.
maybe someday i will be with another one but that doesn't undermine my love for her.
i so damn love her from the bottom of my heart.
i would not be lying when i say she means the world to me.
she has been my companion through it all.
never complaining never throwing tantrums.
this is what i call true love.
i can go indefinitely about her
that is how much i love her want her.
i cant find words to describe how much i adore her
she means a lot to me.
alas everything must come to an end and maybe the end is near.
i cant bear to say her adieu...

ohh by the way ma baby's social security number is RJ 14 22M 2537

love = wants

"Love: An irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired." - Mark Twain

So true ain't it. Love isn't only about wanting but more about being wanted. We women and men, each in our own ways want the same.

Women want to be told how much they are loved, how they are indespensible in the man's life. How he just can't live with out her, how he wouldn't know what to do without her etc. Now these same things can be said in kind and with gifts.

Men... now they want their women to be waiting for them when they return at the end of the day, food made to their taste, a ready listener to all their cursing and cribbing about work and bosses, someone will take their side no matter what etc.

Now look at all of it...
At the bottom of it all lies a want to be wanted.
The want to be wanted overpowers and drives all our desires emotions and actions.
At the end all a human wants is to be wanted.
And loneliness is just a feeling of not feeling wanted.

Wind Water and Earth

“ I thought we could flow together”, said water,
And wind said, “But I want the sky”
“Don’t you think that’s a little too high
I can’t give you the whole sky
But in the stillness of me, you’ll find a piece of it lies”
“That isn’t enough, I want more”

Water had thought they were so the same
But this was turning out to be a different ball game
Maybe water should just forget about wind
It’s after all the earth on whom she flows and bends
And with every turn a story tells
Wind may whisper or holler
But with earth she gurgles and giggles
Of earth she is an important part
At times she may go right to the heart

Looking out she was all this time
Looking in now it all seems fine
Earth’s always been there through it all
Maybe its time to give him a chance after all.

neo colonialism???

these are some of the things i have been thinkin of writing about for some time now...
so here goes...

i am not against mnc's and all that...just that i dont get it when national heroes(or so called heroes or celebrities) sign up to advertise for some mnc and potray sometings or act in such a way which is not amusing at all...
like this other day while walkin down brigade road i came across the reebok showroom...
there the main poster with the central figure is Rahul Dravid (no problem with that...till they get the moolah but then)...
what i found annoying is that he is sporting a jacket with union jack(uk's flag to the uninitiated) on it...
dont know somehow i felt it was not right on his part....
why would u sport some other countries flag or something which is alien to ur society....
i am pro globalization et al but somewhere i do think we need to draw the line....

another thing...
we keep coming across articles about how western civilization and thinking are seeping alarmingly into our society....
best example...
there are lots...
it has its pro it has its cons....
there are few subtler things which i couldn't really digest...
point in case is two guys holding hands or huggin when they meet after a long time...
this was all very well accpeted in out country and society...
i don't see any wrong in it either...
what the hell man when i meet a pal i am going to give him a hug...think whatever u want to...
now there are a lot of ppl including my friends who would say...see so gay...or simply gay...
this is where u do realize that western thinkin has seeped into out minds...
what was perfectly accpetable even to these pp a few years back has now all of a sudden become gay....
double standards ???
no i dont think so....
what i would rather blame it on would be our incapability to know where do we really stand at this point of time....
now here is my question to you (ppl who have actually bothered readin all this)

where do we really stand at this important confluence of indianism and westernism and where do we draw the line??(are these new terms...then all credit to me...thank u thank u)

The eternal divide

what is it and why is it that india is still divided into so many parts...
parts as in calling them and identifying them differently...
like north south etc...

wondering what all sparked this train of thought??
well somebody just happen to ask me " where are you from??"...
as usual my reply was india...
to which the guy was taken aback for he was expecting something else as in state or zone or something like that....
not that the guy was completely wrong or somethin askin me that question but it is just that i dont really like the question specially by another fellow indian...
i refuse to be bound down to a particular state within india...
why should i either...
i identify myself just as an indian...
no north no south no rajasthan no karnataka....
i find it really infuriating when ppl so zealously defend their state and try and put down others...

some friends in class tease this particular dude about rajasthan(just for the heck of it and not really meaning it) and this moron actually bites on to it and goes all gaga and raving about the state and tries defending it...ppl ask me why i dont join him as i also come from the same state....
why should i???
arent all the states equally good and have their own standing that they need to be defended....
what i really fail to understand is why we educated ppl still think about india only in terms of our state and nothin else...

there are lots of other instances...
like this blog i came across written by some guy(name withheld for no reasons at all...just that i dont remember the name)....
now this dude has some serious problems....
every time he goes talkin about bollywood he calls it bolly-fucking-wood...
dude if u have such a big problem with bollywood or for that matter with any media in hindi or not in your language then just stop watchin them and stop abusing them for gods sake...
what really amazed me was this guy is a kinda nerd kinda comp guru kinda biker all rolled into one and still has such a sad view about things...
thou i agree those ppl in bollywood are guilty too(as they say) there is no smoke without fire...
they are nowhere even right half the times...
like depicting every darvidian as a madrassi...
why man, havent u guys done ur geography history civics et al in school????
they are ready to spend lakhs on the actresses saree or something equally insignificant but they cant put in a little effort and get such things right???
craziness and absolutely stupidity....

my freinds here(bangalore) curse me when i say somethin about the poor state of the infrastructure
they just say ...yeah right just go back to ur fuckin north city...why the fuck are u here???
ppl in the first place u r nobody to tell me where i should be in india and u need to realize that somebody only critisize somethin they like and want to help in its betterment....
what i meant by talkin about b'lore's infra was that the govt. needs to do something if the city has to keep up with its growth...no harm was meant and nothin bad was intended....

why i am writin about all this is just that i strongly feel about such issues....
its subject to each one's interpretation but do remember that INDIA is what is and will be and is what really matters...

ahh on a parting note i do agree that every person (domicile of that particular state) does have the right in trying to keep everything in check so that their culture is not lost but then rather then just absolutely refusing other languages or cultures(like allowing only the regional languages channels to be beamed in north east.... to kannadigas defacing hoardings in english) they should work towards the enhancement of their cultures....
ppl our culture has always been the one which welcomes all the other cultures and take the best out of those cultures and mix it with our own....
radicals/activist you are not right in saying that ur culture is getting lost...
no culture within india is barbaric and is out there to convert every indian...
thinkin about it....if these guys say it is not helping and it is not right and their culture is really gettin lost then arent these guys humiliating their culture by saying that their culture is not strong enough to face the change and will rather give up inface of other cultures(treated for some odd reasons as their enemies here)...
to actually do something about our culture our way of life, we should make it strong in the roots and help other ppl understand it and educate the young guns about it....

lastly.....
ok wait....
i dont even feel like writing about the khushboo controversy....
it is there wide open for everyybody to see and comment about it...
thou according to me it was a very humiliating experience and a rather shameful one....
the land of kamasutra and all sorts of erotica is so ....
leave it man don't feel like writing about it...

over and out....

the begining......

Oh well....
here i am writng my first blog here....
well as you see there has to be a begining of everything...
but then does everything have an end???
and then does everything have something in the middle???
now this is something which really fascinates me and hence the name "in the thicket" .... well well i know thicket means in the middle of shrubs and et al but then i guess my interpretation and definition of it is different...

now continuing with the series of questions....
does everything have something in the middle???
then does everybody have what it necessary to have a middle???
but then does this mean u need to be passionate about it???
but then again are cars and bikes really my passion???
does passion mean u really need to be passionate about your passion???
are actors really passionate about acting???
can shah rukh really act???
is every human being really what he/she thinks he/she is???
is the world really how it appers to us???
are we under an illusion???

one more question and it will probably be back to the first question... i call it the cycle of interrelated questions (or atleast i hope they are somehow related)...
but then i won't mention the question....
well that is so because i like to leave the chain, the ring or whatever open....
you see the logic behind my doing so is that by leaving it open i can always come back and add more to it.....

now why i write this blog is to try address few of the questions mentioned above...
in doing do i can use two approaches...
one is the ring side view and the other is getting in the midst of things and then saying something about it...

and i hope you already have an idea about what my style is going to be....

and now before i say adieu until next time et al a few points
i do care about the grammar et al but when i feel strongly about something i just type away so plz ignore all the grammatical mistakes..
the views et al are no works of fiction until mentioned so and any resemblance to any person or object living or dead is purely intended....

alas i need to say what has to be said...
until next time...
so long...

my way of joking is to tell the truth,
it is the funniest joke in the world.
